Rubber Pool Deck Resurfacing in Ontario
Transform an aging, cracked or uncomfortable pool surround with seamless poured-in-place rubber surfacing. Rubber Decker installs custom rubber pool decks for Ontario homeowners who want improved wet traction, comfort underfoot and a modern finish without automatically removing structurally sound concrete.
A safer, more comfortable poolside surface
Pool decks must handle water, bare feet, changing temperatures and constant summer use. Poured rubber creates a textured, cushioned surface that is more forgiving than hard concrete and provides excellent traction when wet. The seamless finish also eliminates loose pavers and many raised edges that can become trip hazards around a pool.
Why Ontario homeowners choose poured rubber
- Improved traction in wet poolside areas
- Cushioned comfort for bare feet, children and pets
- Flexible performance through seasonal temperature changes
- Installation over many sound existing surfaces
- Porous system options that help reduce puddling
- Dozens of colours, custom blends, borders and designs
- Repairable sections and refreshable wear layers
- A clean, seamless appearance around curved or irregular pools
Can rubber go over an existing pool deck?
In many cases, yes. Rubber Decker may be able to resurface sound concrete, exposed aggregate, asphalt, some interlock, some wood decks and other properly prepared bases. Minor cracks and surface imperfections can often be addressed during preparation. Significant movement, heaving or structural damage must be evaluated before installation.
Every project begins with a site inspection so we can confirm the base, drainage, repairs, thickness and preparation required.
Built for Ontario pool seasons
Outdoor pool decks in Ontario experience heat, water, UV exposure and repeated freeze-thaw cycles. A properly installed rubber system is designed to flex with seasonal temperature changes. Colour selection also matters: lighter blends generally feel more comfortable than darker colours in direct sunlight.
Rubber Decker installs around both chlorine and saltwater pools. Project-specific care and curing instructions are provided with the quotation and installation.
Custom colours, borders and designs
Choose from dozens of standard colours or create a custom blend to complement your liner, coping, landscaping and home exterior. Borders can frame the pool or define seating and walkway areas. Custom options may include house numbers, compass designs, graphics and licensed logos.

Rubber pool deck questions
Is poured rubber slippery around a pool?
The textured surface provides excellent traction when wet, which is one reason it is widely used for pool surrounds. All wet surfaces still require appropriate care and safe behaviour.
Does the old concrete need to be removed?
Usually not when it is structurally sound. We inspect the deck and identify repairs or movement that must be addressed before resurfacing.
Can rubber surfacing cover cracks?
Minor cracks and small imperfections can commonly be covered after preparation. Large structural cracks, heaving or ongoing movement require individual assessment.
Does water drain through it?
Many poured rubber systems are porous and allow water to drain toward or through a properly prepared base. Effective drainage still depends on the slope and condition of the underlying surface.
Does rubber get hot in the sun?
Every outdoor surface can heat up. Lighter rubber blends generally absorb less heat than darker colours, making colour selection important for sunny pool decks.
How long does installation take?
Many residential projects can be installed in one to two days, but preparation, project size and weather can change the schedule. Cure and pool-use instructions are provided for each installation.
How is a rubber pool deck cleaned?
Remove debris with a leaf blower or soft broom and rinse with a garden hose. Mild soap can be used when needed. Avoid harsh solvents. Pressure washing may be appropriate when the correct fan tip, distance and pressure are used for the surface condition.
Can damaged rubber be repaired?
Many damaged areas can be cut out and patched with compatible material. Exact colour matching can vary as older surfaces naturally change through use and weather exposure.
